A Birthday Party. A Wedding Reception, and Brian Regan

On May 12, 2012 we met up with Adam's family at the park in Washington for a little birthday party for Adam's dad, Mark. KaLynn had made pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad and had chips and salsa. It was so good. Mark opened his presents, and we also gave KaLynn her mother's day present. Ayla ran through the splash pad with Trevor, and we got to see Sarah and Brandon's little baby, Nathan. Grandpa and Grandma Herpel were also there, and it was good to see them. I'm so grateful that I gained four more grandparents who are all so loving and sweet. At 6 o'clock, I went into the bathroom with Adam and the park to change into my skirt for my friend Kylee's wedding reception. There was this huge bee in the bathroom flying around our heads, and I was screaming while Adam laughed his bum off. I almost fell in the toilet trying to change clothes. We sang Happy Birthday to Mark and ate strawberry shortcake, and then we had to leave.

Kylee and Nick's reception was in her backyard in Winchester Hills. It was such beautiful reception. They have a beautiful backyard with lots of grass, and behind there backyard is a huge mountain. Their colors were navy blue and lime green. Kylee did such a great job planning, and she looked so gorgeous in her vintage lace dress. Her bridesmaids looked so cute with blue and white striped shirts tucked into flowing blue skirts. Kylee and Nick looked so happy, and I love both of them! They had lemonade with blueberries, and paper straws! They served cheesecake with a sour green syrup drizzled on it. It was delicious. Her tables were really cute with green and blue table clothes with vintage books, and bird cages on them. It was such a perfect reception, and I hope Kylee and Nick had the best day ever!

                                                      Such a cute couple!
I seriously love the way she decorated her reception, and I cannot even handle how cute it is! Both of these pictures were taken by Jostlyn at Roz Photography. http://www.facebook.com/rozphotography You should go like her page because she takes awesome photos!

After the reception we drove to Tuacahn to watch the comedian Brian Regan. Adam's parents bought us tickets, and we went with them and Adam's sister Rachael and his little brother Trevor. For an hour and a half none of us stopped laughing. We had so much fun, and we are so grateful that Adam's parents invited us to go. It was such a busy day full of fun adventures, but we were excited when we got in bed that night!
Hanging out waiting for Brian Regan to come on! Don't even mind Adam's nerd face.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

I'm the worst at taking pictures, and I'm trying really hard to get better at it. This year for my daddy's birthday my mom and sister took Kimber to Disneyland, and Adam had to start training for his job in Salt Lake. So my dad and I were home alone. His birthday was on a Monday, and he's not a huge fan of going out to eat. So I decided to make him dinner. I was kinda nervous because my dad mostly eats steak and potatoes. Since I'm not a grill master, and I haven't figured out my dad's secret to mashed potatoes, I had to come up with something else. Every time I cook something, and I bring some leftovers to my parents; my dad always says, "This is weird tasting." I decided to make salmon, asparagus and lemon dill rice. I think he liked it because he ate the whole thing, or maybe he was just being nice. It was fun just talking and hanging out with my dad. When I was a teenager we didn't really get along. We are way to much alike, we are both stubborn, and it's always been my way or NO way. But ever since I got married, and grew up a little more, we've become good friends. My dad is really funny, too. He's always making funny jokes, or doing something goofy that makes us all laugh. My dad is so smart, and I've learned to always take his advice. He's the best dad in the world, and I love him very much. We had cake and ice cream for dessert, and then he headed home. It's so nice to have my parents right around the corner, and it's been fun to just hang out with my parents whenever I want.

St. George Air Show

On March 17, 2012 we went to the Air Show at the new St George Airport. We went with Adam's family, and we had so much fun. Adam and I rode the Navy simulator thing. It was the weirdest ride I've ever been on. It was just a box that moved back and forth and the TV screen just showed a commercial for the Navy. I was so confused. They had a lot of cool airplanes to look at, and even a huge one you can walk into. The air show started and they had a wing walker lady, a stunt plane, and the five Blue Angel planes. The Blue Angels and the stunt plane were the coolest. I couldn't believe what they could do with those airplanes. At the end of the show the Blue Angels flew over this mountain were the sun was setting and right over our heads. It was really cool, and it was fun to see how much Adam loved it. Adam loves airplanes, so it was fun to see how excited he got. The only downside to the day was that it was so so windy. I felt like I was going to blow away most the time, but we had a lot of fun hanging out with Adam's family. At the end of the show we waited for an hour just to get out of the parking lot. I was about to pee my pants, so that hour felt more like two. Luckily, I didn't pee my pants and I made it to the bathroom in Kneader's. We had ate dinner and then went home. It was a fun day, but I hope if we go back they figure out the parking situation better.

Super Bowl Party! Go Patriots!

Since Adam spent some of his growing up years in Massachusetts, he is a huge Patriots fan. Which is good, because they have always been my favorite, too. I don't know....maybe it has something to do with Tom Brady. On my "future husband checklist" one of the requirements was love sports, especially football. I've always loved watching the Superbowl, so me and Adam were a perfect match. That morning I got up and made seven layer dip, and jalapeno poppers with my mom's help. I also made snickers brownies that were so good. At 2 o'clock, we all went over to my mom's house to watch the game. We ordered Domino's pizza, and had a lot of good food. At 4-ish the game started, and it was just me and Adam left in the living room. I guess we are the only football lovers in our family. The patriots were playing the NY Giants. Which is kinda a big deal because Adam hates all of the New York teams. I'm not even allowed to joke that I'm a Yankee's fan. At half time Madonna performed, and she was so great! Of course, everyone came in to watch the half time show. We were all so impressed that she was wearing all her clothes at the end of the performance. By the end of the game the Giants had beat the Patriots and we were sad. There's always next year, though! We had a lot of fun hanging out together cheering for our team. I'm glad Adam and I have so many of the same interests. I love watching him get into the game, and watch him screaming at the TV.
This is what my dad does during all sporting events on TV. He locks himself into a room to watch The History channel. He always says, "They don't watch my work. Why should I watch them work?"

Being silly and hanging out
